Battle at Home examines trends of violence in American soldiers, and the contributing factors that may play into their acts of misconduct.

Through interviews with legal experts, psychologists, and veterans, host Shawn Musgrave explores the role of pre-existing mental health afflictions, post-traumatic afflictions, and increasingly aggressive military instruction in creating desensitized soldiers. While one subject blames the violent misbehavior of veterans on existing psychological conditions, the more common belief is that the stresses of wartime combined alone are often enough to cause an otherwise good soldier to snap.  The Enewetak Atoll in the Marshall Islands - a remote location nestled deep within the vast Pacific Ocean between Australia and Hawaii - is a picturesque paradise in many respects. The dome itself is a circular slab of concrete set close to the ground on a narrow strip of land. Under this concrete lies the radioactive remnants of atomic explosions conducted almost seven decades ago. Construction on the dome was completed sloppily and with little regard for safety precautions. Proper lining was not installed between the toxic materials and the underlying soil. Cracks are beginning to fester on the dome's surface and the ocean has already begun to make its way inside. The workers who built the dome have suffered a myriad of illnesses over the years, and many of them were kept in the dark about what their construction was designed to conceal. Sea waters are already impeding upon the structure. A typhoon could shatter it completely. If such an event were to occur, the entire Pacific Ocean could become contaminated and impact the lives of millions. The film profiles several residents of nearby islands who were evacuated many years ago, including the inhabitants of Bikini Island, the site of a nuclear test which measured 1000 times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb. Even after all this time, contamination levels leave them no hope of ever returning to their homeland. Examines the role of the bottled water industry and its effects on our health,
climate change, pollution, and our reliance on oil. The documentary is well structured and presents an overwhelming amount of evidence which will change the way anyone thinks about bottled and municipal water. Both the "manufacture" of the water itself, and also where the bottles come from, where they go after use and how they influence our lives while they're with us. The willful absence of major companies such as Coke, Pepsi and Nestle is extremely telling in light of all the material presented. One can only hope that the small voice of this film will be heard over the huge booming commercial machine that these and other companies represent in the popular media. If you haven't seen this movie, simply watch it. It's that good and the information is something everyone should know.
